Navigation Class

February 22 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The navigation class is back again. We will be learning the basics of navigation including charts, compass use, planning a trip, effects of tides and currents, and wind and waves. Even if you know a little about navigation, the class is a great review for all levels.

Who should participate?

Anyone who likes to know where they are, and where they are going when paddling. Trip leaders in particular will benefit from this class.  If you’ve taken navigation before, you can still come, I guarantee you probably forgot a lot of it.  I teach this so I don’t forget.  We focus on planning a trip, identifying potential hazards, and discuss what conditions we might expect to find while paddling.

The class is free for CPA members. If you are not a CPA member the cost is joining CPA
