The 2019 Navigation Classroom has been scheduled. This will be a one day introduction to the concepts of kayak navigation. We include using charts to plan trips, identify hazards, and determine where we are. We also discuss tides and currents, weather, wind and waves; all things that can have an impact on our paddles. This class is sponsored by Chesapeake Paddlers Association and registration is open on the CPA Meetup Site.
There will be an on water navigation class on April 14th offered by Cross Currents Sea Kayaking. This class will allow you to take the knowledge gained in the classroom and apply it to the real world. We will be paddling and use our charts to identify where we are, landmarks, aids to navigation, etc. It’s amazing how different the world looks from the cockpit of a kayak.
